  9.     The writer (1868-1936) who championed the Communist
  10. Revolution and Soviet-style socialist realism lost his address
  11. to glasnost. Gorky Street, Moscow's main drag, which was
  12. christened in his honor in 1932, was given back its 15th
  13. century name: Tverskaya Street.
